Pinterest Adds Analytics in New Design

Pinterest analyticsPinterest is rolling out a new design. You can change now, or wait a few weeks when it will become mandatory. Some of the changes are purely cosmetic – such as moving the category drop down box to the left, underneath the search bar, and increasing the image size when you click on a pin.

A recent Mashable article said that Pinterest was eliminating hashtags in the new design. With a hashtag in front of a keyword, it made that pin searchable. However, there seems to be come confusion about this point, since many people who have the new design claim hashtags still work. Whether you use hashtags or not, if you include keywords in your Pin description, other will be able to find it through a search.

Pinterest Adds Web Analytics

The major change coming to Pinterest is the addition of web analytics. If your website is verified on Pinterest, you’ll be able to see information about how many people have pinned from your site, how many people have seen these pins, and how many people visited your site from Pinterest.

Pinterest will also show you a selection of your most repinned, most clicked, and most recent pins so you have a better idea of what’s popular. According to Pinterest, “For example, if you have a travel blog, you’ll be able to see whether people are pinning your ski vacation posts or beach vacation posts more.”

Be aware that if you change to the new version of Pinterest now, you won’t be able to go back.
